Draft Trails Master Plan Presented to Council

On February 13, 2020 Council approved a contract with Moore Iacofano Goltsman, Inc. (MIG) to develop the City-Wide Trails Master Plan for the Town of Addison. On April 14, 2020, Council appointed a Trails Master Plan Advisory Committee and those members have advised and provided feedback throughout the four phases of the process. Community input was a key component in the development of the plan so MIG provided several opportunities for residents to share feedback through questionnaires, virtual community visioning workshops, and pop-up events.
At the February 23, 2021 meeting, MIG presented a draft report of the plan to Council. Some of the comprehensive recommendations of the plan include:
- Improvements to existing trails
- Integration with Master Transportation Plan
- Proactive planning in developing and redeveloping areas
- Creation of nested loops
- Enhancement of regional connectivity
The report will be finalized and brought back to Council to consider for adoption at a future Council Meeting.
