Special Events & Theatre Director Abby Morales provided the City Council with an update on the upcoming Kaboom Town! event during its June 11 meeting. Addison's Kaboom Town! has recently been rated by USA Today's 10Best as the #5 fireworks show in the country. The event is celebrated in hotels and restaurants throughout the city, as well as at the watch party in Addison Circle Park. Residents were offered an opportunity to secure free tickets in May to the Addison Circle watch party and hotel guests will also receive free admission into the park. For all others, tickets this year are $10 ($5 for kids 2-10 and free for those under 2).

A ticket system was implemented after COVID to manage capacity in the park, but it also reduced the number of people who were turned away at the gate on the day of the event when the park reached capacity and was closed. Unfortunately, the majority of free tickets issued over the last few years have not been redeemed. A paid ticket will ensure that the Town can let as many Kaboom Town! fans as is safely possible into Addison Circle Park.

The carnival is making a return this year and you'll find it along Festival Way. Guests will also enjoy music from The Emerald City Allstars, Big City Outlaws, and 34th Infantry Division: Rock Before Dawn, along with food from a variety of Addison restaurants and popular concessionaires. Coolers will not be allowed in the park this year due to safety issues with glass bottles at past events, but there will be free water refilling stations for those who bring a container with them.
