Special Events Director Jasmine Lee provided the City Council with operational and financial reconciliations for Taste Addison and Kaboom Town!, as well as an Addison Oktoberfest preview, at the August 24 meeting. Taste Addison, which took place June 4-5, offered a new two-day schedule, Friday Night Bites Tasting Room option, mobile ordering, and expanded seating. New for Kaboom Town! in 2021 were the ticket requirement, enhanced fireworks display, Freedom Flyover, and COVID-19 adjustments. Both events generated record hotel room night bookings and performed within budget.

Oktoberfest returns to Addison Circle Park September 16 - 19. The Partyhalle will feature an open-air design this year and the new Kleinhalle, which will be located inside the Conference Centre, will offer table service, live entertainment, and exclusive beer and wine options. The redesigned layout is just one of the many health and safety measures that will be in place this year. You can get all the event details and purchase tickets at www.AddisonOktoberfest.com.

City Manager Wes Pierson applauded the Special Event team's ability to plan and implement these events in the middle of a pandemic. Select the links below to watch the Council's special event discussions and read the presentations:
