Special Events Director Jasmine Lee and Accounting Manager Ashley Boatright presented the Addison Oktoberfest operations, financial, and marketing reconciliation to the City Council at its December 14 meeting. A four-day festival held September 17-20 at Addison Circle Park, Addison Oktoberfest features food, music, and entertainment focused on German culture.

This year the new Partyhalle layout and adjacent food court provided an open-air space that enhanced the overall flow of the festival. Addison also introduced a mobile ordering option for food concessionaires and created a new dining and entertainment area inside the Addison Conference Centre. The Kinderzelt featured enhanced children’s activities and seating was expanded throughout the venue.

Of the more than 700 people surveyed at the event, 95% rated it as above average or excellent. The event, which is designed to generate tourism, resulted in 443 hotel room night bookings and marketing efforts exposed millions of people to Addison. Oktoberfest admission was down slightly this year due to COVID-19 which translated to less revenue than expected, but the special events overall were within the budget for Fiscal Year 2021.
