Council Discusses Council Compensation

Mayor Joe Chow requested a work session item at the April 11 City Council Meeting to discuss the compensation paid to members of the City Council. Compensation for the Mayor and City Council is specified in Article II, Section 2-31 of the Town's code of ordinances, which was last updated on April 9, 2002. Currently, the Mayor is paid $200 on a bi-weekly basis, or $5,200 annually, while City Council members are paid $100 on a bi-weekly basis, or $2,600 annually. 

Council discussed increasing the annual amount to $10,400 for the Mayor and $5,200 for Council Members. Council will consider action on this item at its April 25 meeting.
