Building Inspection
What We Do
The Building Safety Division is responsible for ensuring the safety of existing buildings and new construction within the Town of Addison. Compliance is achieved through the review of building plans, issuance of permits and on-site inspection of construction on private property to verify compliance with the Building, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Codes. Additionally, this division registers contractors, and provides code information for new building construction, remodels, alterations, pools, fences, and signs.
The Town of Addison provides:
- Same-day service on building inspections submitted through our CSS portal prior to 7:00 am. Inspections requested via our inspections line must be requested by 3:00 pm for a next business day inspection.
- Specific appointments for residents who need inspections in their homes.
- After-hour and weekend inspections if needed (extra fee).

Schedule an Inspection
To schedule an inspection, you can either visit the CSS portal, or make the request on our 24-hour inspection request line at (972) 450-2885.
Be sure to have available: the last 5 digits of the permit number, street address (including the suite number if applicable), type of inspection, and your contact information.
Only submit your inspection request using one method. Multiple submissions for the same inspection may result in scheduling delays. Please send any inspection-related questions to inspections@addisontx.gov.
Any requests made prior to 7:00 am using the CSS portal will be made the same day! Inspections requested via the 24-hour inspection request line prior to 3:00 pm will be performed the following business day.
