Council Makes Boards and Commissions Appointments

The Council made appointments to the Planning and Zoning Commission, Board of Zoning Adjustment, Charter Review Commission, and Census Complete Count Committee at its October 29 meeting.

Planning and Zoning Commission Appointments

The Planning and Zoning Commission members may serve up to three consecutive two-year terms and has four members with terms expiring in December. The next term of office begins in January of 2020 and expires in December of 2021. Robert Catalani (nominated by Braun), Eileen Resnik (nominated by Ward), and Tom Souers (nominated by Hughes) were reappointed. Mayor Chow nominated Chris DeFrancisco to fill the remaining spot.

Board of Zoning Adjustment Appointments

The Board of Zoning Adjustments has four members with terms expiring this year. Individuals appointed to the Board may serve up to three consecutive two-year terms and will begin the next term in January of 2020. E.J. Copeland (nominated by Braun), Jeanne Dunlap (nominated by Ward), and Gary Krupkin (nominated by Chow) were reappointed and Council Member Hughes nominated J.T. McPherson to fill the final spot.

Charter Review Commission

The Town of Addison Home Rule Charter requires the appointment of a Charter Review Commission to review the Charter at least every ten years and make recommendations for changes (if any) to the City Council. Each Council Member nominated two residents to serve on this Commission:

Census Complete Count Committee

The United States Census Bureau has requested local governments’ help to educate and motivate residents to participate in the 2020 Census by establishing a Complete Count Committee. These committees will work to educate residents on the importance and benefit of accurately counting all residents. Each Council member nominated three members of the community to serve on Addison’s Census Complete Count Committee:
