The City Council approved a special use permit for The Halal Guys in Addison Walk at 5000 Belt Line Road at its June 25 meeting. The Halal Guys is a quick-service restaurant that began in 1990 and has expanded to over 400 locations worldwide. The 1,440-square-foot Addison restaurant will feature a variety of chicken and gyro platters, rice, falafel, and unique sauces on its menu.

Just up the street, California-based Krak Boba opened at 3767 Belt Line Road in May in a suite that was formerly a salon and did not allow indoor dining. The zoning for its location allows for specialty stores, such as a bakery, ice cream parlor, or coffee shop, that do not offer onsite food or beverage consumption. The City Council approved a special use permit at its June 25 meeting to allow Krak Boba to add 28 indoor seats. This is the small chain's first store in Texas and its 15th location in the country.

Welcome to Addison, Halal Guys and Krak Boba!
