Addison Taps Latesha Dejua as New Director of Human Resources

The Town of Addison is pleased to announce the appointment of Latesha Dejua as the new Director of Human Resources, effective September 25. Dejua will be succeeding Passion Hayes, who has been promoted to the position of Deputy City Manager.

Dejua brings a vast amount of experience and expertise to her new role as HR Director, having demonstrated her exceptional leadership and strategic skills in both the private and public sectors throughout her career. Her impressive background includes a diverse range of roles, where she has consistently excelled in delivering results and fostering positive workplace environments.

"Latesha brings a remarkable depth of experience and a proven track record of excellence in the field of human resources,” said Addison City Manager David Gaines. “We are confident that under her leadership, we will continue to enhance our HR practices and elevate the overall employee experience in the Town of Addison."

Prior to joining the Addison team, Dejua served as the Assistant HR Director for the City of DeSoto, where she made significant contributions to the organization's human resources functions. Her tenure as HR Manager of Employment and Employee Relations at the City of McKinney further honed her skills in managing employment-related matters.

Dejua's corporate experience includes positions such as Corporate HR Manager at Tuesday Morning and Employee Relations Manager at Pier 1 Imports, where she demonstrated her ability to navigate complex challenges and provide effective solutions. Her earlier experience as a Senior Recruiter at Amazon showcased her skills in talent acquisition and workforce development.

Notably, Dejua also served in key HR leadership roles at the Army Air Force Exchange Service (AFES), where she managed employee relations and the care center.

Dejua is committed to continuous learning and holds a Bachelor of Arts & Science (BAS) in Communications from Dallas Baptist University. She is currently pursuing a Master of Management in Human Relations and Business from the University of North Texas and holds a Master’s Certificate in Conflict Management from Amberton University and is a SHRM Certified HR Professional.
