Addison Announces the Appointment of a New Deputy City Manager

Addison City Manager Wes Pierson announced on Tuesday, March 12 the appointment of John Crawford to serve as Addison’s new Deputy City Manager. John is currently the Director of Public Works for the City of Carrollton and will assume his role in Addison on March 25.  With help from Strategic Government Resources (SGR), Addison conducted a national search to fill the position. John will be joining Deputy City Manager Ashley Mitchell to complete the executive management team.

As the Director of Public Works in Carrollton, John operates a competitive business unit, benchmarked with public and private operations, comprised of 126 employees, and manages a $44 million operating budget and a $71 million capital budget. He is accountable for streets, water distribution, wastewater, drainage, and meter services divided between two divisions and eight sections. Prior to his role as Director of Public Works, John served as the Intelligence Division Commander for the Carrollton Police Department where he was responsible for the Covert and Street Intelligence Units, School Resource Officers, and the Crime Analysis Section.
