Earlier today, the City of Frisco announced it has selected Addison City Manager Wes Pierson as its new city manager. Frisco’s first and only City Manager George Purefoy is set to retire on June 30 and Frisco conducted a nationwide search to fill his position. Pierson plans to continue in his current role with Addison until August 1, during which time he will assist the City Council with developing a transition plan and submit the City Manager’s Fiscal Year 2023 Budget.

Pierson, who began in Addison on December 1, 2015, shared this heartfelt message with employees this morning, “This has been one of the most difficult decisions of my career. I love Addison! I love our people and I am honored to work alongside each of you to serve the residents and businesses that call this community home.”

"On behalf of the Mayor, City Council, and residents, we wish Wes all the best in his new role and are grateful for his leadership over the last seven years," said Deputy Mayor Pro Tempore Lori Ward. "He has helped us continue on the right path for future success in making Addison a great place to live, work, and play."

Council will share updates with the community about the transition plan as it is developed.
