At the March 8 City Council Meeting, ETC Institute presented the results of the recently completed resident survey. ETC also administered the survey completed in 2018 so they were able to share a snapshot of how resident responses have changed over time. The seven-page survey was mailed to 3,000 randomly selected Addison households and 401 surveys were completed. This statistically significant sample size has a margin of error of +/- 4.9% and a 95% level of confidence.
According to the survey results, residents have a very positive perception of Addison: 96% were satisfied with Addison as a place to live and 95% were satisfied with the overall quality of life in Town. Since 2018, satisfaction ratings have increased in 59 of 92 areas surveyed and 16 areas have had a significant increase in satisfaction. Satisfaction with Town services is much higher in Addison than in other cities:
- Addison rates above the U.S. average in 57 of 58 areas.
- Satisfaction with the overall quality of Town services is 32% above the U.S. average.
- Satisfaction with the customer service from Town employees is 45% above the U.S. average.
The top overall priorities according to survey responses are traffic flow and congestion management, maintenance of streets, and public safety.
