At its March 26 meeting, Council approved a Pilot Program that will pave the way for companies like Lime and Bird to operate in Addison. Council will evaluate the new Personal Transportation Vehicle (PTV) permitting program this fall to determine if it should be continued or if additional regulations are required. The approved ordinance has a sunset clause and will expire on December 31, 2019 if Council does not take action to renew or amend it.

Any company offering PTVs for rental in the public right-of-way or other Town property will be required to obtain a permit agreement from the Town that will require them to agree to a number of requirements regarding the maintenance and upkeep of PTVs, the placement and parking of PTVs, as well as other operational requirements.
