Monday, May 18, Governor Abbott released Executive Order GA-23 outlining the second phase to reopen Texas. Gyms, salons, and child care centers were among the businesses allowed to open on May 18. On May 22, restaurants can expand dine-in capacity to 50% capacity and bars, bowling alleys, and other recreational facilities can reopen at 25% capacity. Professional and youth sports as well as youth camps will be allowed to open on May 31.

People over the age of 65 are still strongly encouraged to stay at home as much as possible; to maintain appropriate distance from any member of the household who has been out of the residence in the previous 14 days; and, if leaving the home, to implement social distancing and to practice good hygiene, environmental cleanliness, and sanitation per CDC recommendations.

All individuals are encouraged to wear appropriate face coverings, but no jurisdiction can impose a civil or criminal penalty for failure to wear a face covering.

Dallas County Health and Human Services is currently reporting a total of 27 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Addison since March 27.
