An Interlocal Agreement (ILA) between the Town of Addison, Dallas County Community College (DCCCD) and City of Farmers Branch was executed to facilitate the construction of the Bella Lane extension from the Vitruvian development through Brookhaven College in Farmers Branch to Alpha Road. The scope of work includes the design of a new roadway connecting the Vitruvian Park development with Alpha Road and Brookhaven College and a regional detention pond.
Status Updates
November 2023:
The project is completed.
August 2023:
The contractor is working on addressing the remaining punch list deficiencies items.
The project is set to be completed and closed out by the end of August.
July 2023:
This project is 99% complete. The final walk-through was conducted on July 18th.
June 2023:
The contractor addressed and resolved the punch list items from May 25th to June 12th.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was held on June 14th.
May 2023:
The preliminary walk-through was conducted on May 24th.
February 2023:
The contractor formed and poured concrete for the bridge slab on the 4th.
The contractor is currently working on rebar placement in preparation for the concrete pour of the bridge slab approaches and sidewalks.
January 2023:
The contractor completed the installation of the select backfill in lifts underneath the abutment embankment sides of the bridge, and cement-stabilized flowable fill underneath the bridge abutment.
December 2022:
The contractor has completed concrete paving trail/sidewalk, ADA Ramps, street median opening closure, bridge abutments walls, beams installation, concrete riprap placement, and deck panels.
July 2022:
Much of the grading/excavation for the roadway and detention pond is completed. Major paving operations for the road have begun.
April 2022:
Construction of the project is underway. It is estimated to take 12 months to complete.
January 11, 2022:
City Council awards construction contract to Tiseo Paving Company.
October 21, 2021:
Bids for construction were opened.
September 27, 2021:
The project will be advertising for bids beginning on 9/28/2021 and opening bids on 10/21/2021. The project is scheduled to be brought forward to the council in December for a recommendation of award. Construction is anticipated to begin in February 2022.
March 10, 2021:
60% design submittal is under review by Brookhaven College and the City of Farmers Branch.
July 27, 2021:
95% design submittal is under review by the Town of Addison and the City of Farmer's Branch.
