Planning and Zoning Commission Chair Presents Annual Report

In accordance with the Code of Ordinances, the Planning and Zoning Commission must submit an annual progress report to the City Council. Commission Chair Kathryn Wheeler presented the 2019 report to Council at its January 28 meeting.

During 2019, the Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed 20 cases including eight Zoning Changes, nine Special Use Permits, and three Plats. This is slightly below the average case load heard by the Commission over the past five years. Chair Wheeler shared that the three notable cases for the Commission were the Addison Circle Special Area Study, the Prestonwood Place shopping center redevelopment, and the request by Village on the Parkway for several improvements to their property including the addition of residential units.
