Addison Earns leading the way award

In March 2022, ETC Institute presented the results of the latest Town of Addison resident survey which showed that citizens rated Addison above the U.S. average in 57 of 58 areas surveyed.  Each year, ETC gives its “Leading the Way" award to cities and counties that rank in the top 10% of all cities it surveys in satisfaction with the overall quality of service, satisfaction with customer service provided by employees, and satisfaction with the value residents think they receive for local taxes and fees. At the September 13 City Council Meeting, Director of Administrative Services Bill Hawley shared with Council that Addison was one of 18 recipients of this year's Leading the Way award. The winners were selected from nearly 200 communities that participated in ETC Institute’s DirectionFinder® survey.

In addition to ranking in the top 10% overall, Addison also ranked in the top 10% of all cities in the areas listed below:

  • Public safety services
  • Enforcement of local codes and ordinances
  • Condition of pavement markings on streets
  • Number of Town parks
  • Walking/biking trials
  • The level of public involvement in local decision making
  • Image and appearance of the Town
