Athletic Club Renovation Survey Results Shared with Council

Between September 22 and October 13, Addison staff solicited in-person and on-line input from the community on the renovations planned for the Athletic Club including preferred design styles, locker room configurations, and preferences related to sauna and steam elements. At the October 22 Council meeting, Parks and Recreation Director Janna Tidwell shared the results of the survey with Council. The community was split on the design style, so staff recommended proceeding with the traditional design, but blending in preferred transitional elements including lightening the design and using small accents of color. There was overwhelming support for Option A for changing rooms, and requests to look at ways to add a door from the Men's room to the outdoor pool, add swimsuit dryers to both locker rooms, and increase privacy. There was also support for a traditional sauna and a traditional steam room.

 

These recommendations will be shared with the design consultant and those that can be incorporated into the renovation designs and budget will be considered.
