On Tuesday, October 11, Mayor Joe Chow, Mayor Pro Tempore Kathryn Wheeler, Council Member Darren Gardner, and Council Member Eileen Resnik attended the ribbon cutting of the newly renovated Addison Athletic Club. The project has been a labor of love for the Director of Parks and Recreation Janna Tidwell and the Club staff. The renovation includes major upgrades to many amenities of the Club, including the men's and women's locker rooms, hot tub, indoor track, indoor and outdoor pools, front desk area, and much more. Thank you to all of our residents for their patience and support.

Council was also present for the ribbon cutting of the new pickleball courts. A beloved activity amongst many of our Addison residents, the new courts will not only allow for recreational play during Club hours but has sprouted a new pickleball league managed by the Addison Parks and Recreation Department.

Additionally, the Council joined the Addison Arbor Foundation in the unveiling of “Chacoan”, its 15th public art sculpture. Situated in Les Lacs Park, "Chacoan" stands about six feet tall and incorporates two limestone fence posts from the Oklahoma territory, stacked sandstone from Colorado and New Mexico, and real tree branches embedded in the glass. Be sure to stop by to see this stunning sculpture by artist Greg Reiche.
