Officer Schmidt with Mayor and Police Chief
Addison Police Chief Paul Spencer presented Officer Schmidt with a life-saving award at the February 22 City Council Meeting. Surrounded by family, friends, and members of her shift, Officer Schmidt was recognized for her quick and decisive action in response to a dispute at a local restaurant in November 2021. She was nominated for this award by an Addison Police Sergeant and an Addison Firefighter/Paramedic who credit her with saving the victim's life by applying needed chest seals to his wounds.

Protecting and preserving human life are the most important components of what the Addison Police Department does. Every day Addison police officers work hard to keep residents and visitors to Addison safe. Congratulations to Officer Schmidt and thank you for your dedication to the Addison community.
