AFD Team Efforts Recognized

During the May 31 Council Meeting, Police Chief Paul Spencer commended several officers for their teamwork and quick response during a recent incident. On February 20, APD received a call from someone stating they observed a woman on Snapchat attempting to commit suicide at the Red Roof Inn in Addison. A team of officers quickly responded to the hotel, were able to locate the room, and used force to open the door. They discovered an unconscious woman in the bathtub with a large, self-inflicted laceration on her wrist. They quickly placed a tourniquet on her arm and applied pressure to the wound. The woman was transported to the hospital by medics where she survived her injuries due to the quick actions of the APD response team.
