Alarm Permits

The Police Department answers an average of 2,100 alarm calls per year and false alarms account for approximately 95% of these calls. To help minimize false alarm calls, Addison requires businesses and residents who have an alarm to register it each year.

You can register your alarm system at AddisonAlarmRegistration.com.

Residents and businesses who have registered their alarm systems will be allowed three free false alarm calls before false alarm fees are assessed.  

Business Registration Fee:  $50
Residential Registration Fee:  $0

• 1-3 false alarms: Free
• 4-5 false alarms: $50*
• 6-7 false alarms: $75*
• 8+ false alarms: $100*

*per occurrence

Non-registered alarm users will be charged $100 for the first false alarm, but that fee will be waived if they register their system within 30 days of the violation.
