On January 11, the City Council approved amendments to the Town's residential commercial vehicle parking ordinance to address community concerns regarding commercial vehicles parking in residential areas. Since enforcement efforts began, residents and property owners have contacted Town staff with questions and concerns about the revised Ordinance.

At the March 8 City Council meeting, Police Chief Paul Spencer reviewed the recent changes to the ordinance, discussed with Council the difficulties encountered during enforcement (i.e., use of weight capacities, identifying private passenger vehicles, complex zoning maps, etc.), and asked for additional policy direction.

The Police Department has paused enforcement of the new revisions to the Ordinance until additional research is completed to address the concerns discussed at the meeting. Council plans to revisit this topic at a future meeting.
