Upgrade of the Electrical Distribution and Control System and associated improvements. The scope of this project will include instrumentation and controls upgrades, installation new wiring and associated conduit, replacement and testing of electrical distribution components and controls (ED&C) for the existing Motor Control Center (MCC) serving all three pumps at the Surveyor Road Pump Station.

Status Updates

December 2023:

Pump #2 has been replaced and is operational. The electrical work for the MCC is anticipated to start in the summer of 2024 when the electrical components arrive. 

July 2023:

The first Notice To Proceed has been issued.

Phase 1 of the project, the installation of Pump #2 and associated accessories, is scheduled to be completed by mid-November.

The date of issuance of the second Notice To Proceed and start of Phase 2 (electrical MCC panel work) is yet to be determined due to long lead times for materials. The materials should be delivered in early summer of 2024.

May 2023:

On May 31st the Limited Notice To Proceed was issued for the procurement of materials, document submittals, and related administrative requirements.

April 2023:

The pre-construction meeting was held on April 25th.

March 2023:

Project design was completed in January of 2023. Bids for construction were received on February 7, 2023, and the Town received three bids. Town staff is brought forth a recommendation of construction award to the March 28th City Council meeting. There will be long lead times for the electrical components and may delay the start of construction by 16 weeks.

The project was awarded to Felix Construction on March 28th.

January 2023:

The project was advertised for bid on CIVCAST, and bids were closed on February 7, 2023.

January 2022:

City Council authorized a Professional Services Agreement (PSA) with Kleinfelder for design services for the Surveyor Pump Station Electrical Improvements due to their prior experience with Town's Utility Infrastructure systems.
