Addison Earth Day Scavenger Hunt

In honor of Earth Day, Addison invites you to join us on a scavenger hunt around town.  Signs will be in place through Sunday, April 24 and the deadline to submit your collage is 5pm on April 29.

  • Each clue will lead to a sign with a letter on one side and an Earth Day fact on the other. Signs will not be placed until April 11.
  • When you decipher a clue and find a letter, take a photo with the letter side of the sign (please leave the signs in place so others can play too).
  • Once you locate all eight letters, arrange them in a collage and take a photo (click here for examples).
  • Submit the collage in the form below.
  • Once you complete the scavenger hunt and submit your collage, you will be entered for a chance to win a gift card (a total of five will be given out).

Earth Day Scavenger Hunt Clues

(Available for download here.)

Clue One
In the garden, you pull the weeds, then dig a hole and plant the seeds.  Cover them up and water them too, watch them grow in front of you.

The first clue for you to find is where the community gardeners toil and grind. They grow fruits, veggies, and occasionally weeds, to share with their friends and donate to those in need.

Clue Two
You can save water and plant a tree, make a better home for you and me.  Recycle everything - don’t throw it away.  Make every day seem like it’s Earth Day.

At Vitruvian Park, rainwater flows so free, and near the waterfall, a clue you will see.

Clue Three
You can save water and plant a tree, make a better home for you and me.  The Mayor’s office is in a Town Hall, which is located in a white house that is pretty and tall.

Behind the house, you’ll find a stream and another Earth Day clue that is part of the theme.

Clue Four
Let’s do our part and commit, to leave this earth better than we found it.

You’ll find your next letter near the stage, where national performers sing for a wage. In a park that is big and green, near the Conference Centre is the letter you glean.

Clue Five
Reduce, reuse, and recycle are words that we all know.  We have to save the planet so we can live and grow.

At the stone building with a special historical plaque, is the letter you’ll need to attack.  Used for meetings and for shows, the small cottage has stories no one knows.

Clue Six
We need our planet, that is true, but our planet needs us too.  Recycling cans and reducing waste make our earth a better place.

Handling the Town’s finances is serious work, and at the “money” building you must lurk.  Money doesn’t grow on trees, but an Earth Day letter you will see.

Clue Seven
Named after a former Mayor, this park brings residents out of their lairs.  It is not uncommon to even see them walking with their four-legged companions in pairs.

Two sculptures are the main attraction here, see if you can your sign somewhere near.

Clue Eight
A park surrounded by tall buildings is your next goal.  It runs between a blue sculpture and a road where cars pay a toll.

A park named for a former mayor is the place, where you can find your sign on an acre and a half of open space.
