BBQ, Biscuits, and Brew Are Coming to Addison

At its April 13 meeting, the City Council approved special use permits for three new food venues: Oak'd Handcrafted BBQ, The Biscuit Bar, and Dutch Bros Coffee.

Oak'd Handcrafted BBQ, a new local concept with one location on Greenville Avenue, will be moving into the former Chamberlain's Fish Market at 4525 Belt Line Road. The restaurant and brewpub focuses on craft BBQ options of prime and Wagyu smoked meats, as well as four types of craft beer selections brewed onsite. The proposal approved by Council consists of a 6,647 square foot restaurant with a 600 square foot open-air smoke shed, and a nearly 3,000 square foot patio. The owner hopes to open their new Addison location during the first quarter of 2022.

Joining Mendocino Farms in the former Service Merchandise Building at Prestonwood Place Shopping Center at 5294 Belt Line Road, The Biscuit Bar is a fast-casual southern-style restaurant that will be open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late nights, offering biscuits, tots, and taps. Their menu features an assortment of savory and sweet biscuit sandwiches made from scratch, craft cocktails, and locally sourced brews, cold brew coffee or kombucha, all offered on tap.

The Biscuit Bar’s first location opened in Spring 2018 in Plano. Currently, there are a total of five locations in the DFW area and they plan to open the Addison restaurant in October 2021.

As the Brookhaven Village Shopping Center redeveloped, two pad sites fronting Marsh Lane were allocated for potential new drive-thru tenants. Dutch Bros Coffee is the first of these tenants and will be developing the southernmost pad site into a drive-thru coffee shop. Headquartered out of Oregon, Dutch Bros Coffee is considered the largest privately held drive-thru coffee chain in the United States.
