At its March 8 meeting, the Council approved a property rezoning request to allow for a townhome development on Beltway Drive on the site that once housed a Super 8 hotel. The new townhome community will consist of 31 three-story, rear-entry townhome units that would be fee-simple ownership. The homes will have 2-car garages, a minimum of 1,400 square feet, and a sales price in excess of $500,000. Dallas-based developer Cobalt Homes is the applicant for the development and has agreed to dedicate public right-of-way at the eastern edge of the site for a new public street as part of the project, as well as construct a 10-foot public trail at the western edge of the site.
