Council Gets Update on Construction Projects Around Town

The Public Works and Engineering Department maintains 37 signalized intersections; 167 lane miles of roadway; over 5,000 signs; 96 miles of water mains; 1,100 fire hydrants; 76 miles of storm water mains; and 72 miles of sanitary sewer mains. They also manage $100 million in bond projects. Public Works and Engineering Director Shannon Hicks gave the City Council an update on key department operations, capital improvement projects, and bond projects for Fiscal Year 2022 at the July 12 meeting.
