As you might have noticed, several communities in the surrounding area have instituted their drought contingency plans. Currently, Addison does not meet the criteria to enter into any water restrictions in accordance with the Drought Contingency Plan (Article V of The Town of Addison Code of Ordinances).

In order to enact water restrictions, one of the two criteria below must be met:

  • 65% storage level of all raw water supply lakes. These are currently at just over 88%. Visit https://waterdatafortexas.org/reservoirs/municipal/dallas for up-to-date levels.
  • 85% demand of the Town’s contracted water capacity of 11 million gallons for four consecutive days. To date, the Town has only had one day that exceeded 85%

Town staff is keeping a close eye on the situation and will inform the community if the situation changes. Please visit the Addison Water Conservation Plan webpage for water conservation tips.
