Addison has contracted with RJN Group to inventory the Town’s water service lines. They will be in neighborhoods the week of April 29 opening meter boxes, verifying pipe material, and performing tests of the service lines to identify the material on both the Town’s side and the customer’s side. The work is expected to take 5-7 business days to complete.

On November 30, 2023, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released a proposed rule establishing National Primary Drinking Water Regulations for Lead and Copper: Improvements (LCRI) which builds on the Lead and Copper Rule Revisions finalized in 2021 and mandates the replacement of lead pipes and water lines by 2035. As part of the LCRI, all community water systems are required to provide an initial inventory of lead service lines by October 16, 2024.
