New Stop Signs Planned for Les Lacs Avenue and Waterford Drive Intersections

On November 17, residents will see new stop signs at the intersections of Les Lacs Avenue and Waterford Drive. In response to concerns from the community, Addison hired an engineering firm, Kimley-Horn, to complete a stop sign warrant study of the intersections. Based on the study and using calculations of sight distance from the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials standards, it was determined that there is insufficient sight distance at the intersections. Since neither of these intersections meet the minimum site distance standards, Kimley-Horn has recommended installing all-way stop controls at both intersections.
