On January 19, DART and its design contractor Archer Herzog held a community meeting at the Addison TreeHouse to provide an update on the Silver Line. In addition to sharing information on the progress of the Addison Station, road rail crossings, and the Arapaho bridge construction, they informed those in attendance that the date for revenue service has been pushed to 2026. Unexpected delays in construction caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, including labor shortages and a nationwide shortage of appropriate steel and concrete, as well as major design changes involving the rail crossings at Hillcrest and Coit Roads, have extended the planned opening of the Silver Line project. Service testing is currently scheduled to begin in late 2025, with the start of revenue service planned for late 2026.
